Emotionally Focused Therapy for Families (EFFT) Skills Group

Are you a parent, sibling, or carer supporting a loved one struggling with disordered eating or an eating disorder? Our EFFT skills group is tailored just for you. Discover effective strategies grounded in Emotionally Focused Family Therapy, designed to empower you to support your loved one with compassion, while also nurturing your own emotional health.

    Duration: 1 hr each group

    Time: 6:30-7:30 PM PT, 7:30-8:30 PM MT

Distress Tolerance Skills Group

With the support and accountability of a group setting, learn and practice skills specifically developed to help you effectively cope with times of challenge and distress. This group is designed for adolescents who want to learn and practice effective coping skills and strategies that promote resilience and emotional well-being. Gain tools to navigate difficult emotions, manage life challenges, and build a strong foundation for thriving even in the face of adversity. Open to adolescents.

Intro to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Group

For people who might be struggling to manage any of the following: stress, life transitions, work-life balance, anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship issues, food and body related issues.

Gain new insights and tools to help you progress toward and feel empowered in your healing process. Our Intro to DBT Skills Group is built for anyone seeking concrete skills they can apply at home, work, school, in life. As a group, we will explore and implement the basics of mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance.

Online Group

Recovery Skills Study and Discussion Support Group

For people who might be struggling to manage any of the following: stress, life transitions, work-life balance, anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship issues, food and body related issues.

For those with existing DBT skills knowledge and training, this group meets weekly for a deep-dive into learning, practicing and discussing a recovery skill. Each week the group creates goals for using the skill that week that are tailored to each member’s needs. This is a great way to both get additional support and create actionable goals to work on throughout the week that are aligned with the goals you are working on with your treatment team.

Prerequisite: Prior knowledge/learning experience of DBT

  • Facilitator: Caley Featherstone, MS, LCPC, CEDS

    Dates: Tuesdays. Every week for 4 weeks. Recurring Series.

    Duration: 1 hr each group

    Time: 5:30pm PT, 6:30pm MT

Developed by behaviorally-trained senior eating disorder clinicians, our Recovery Skills Meal Coaching meets you where you are at and helps you to make small yet meaningful steps in changing your relationship with food so that you can move toward the life you want to live, a life where you can trust yourself, feel safe, in-control and have the freedom to be you.

Build on Successes: Recovery Skills Meal Coaching

Let’s face it: To a large extent, recovery from eating disorders or disordered eating is about, well, eating.

At a certain point, progress is significantly hindered when disordered eating behaviors persist. Yet making changes in this area can be so challenging. We get it. We understand how hard it is. We also understand what is needed to begin to make these changes in the outpatient environment.

Using a structured, behaviorally-based, skills-focused approach, we help you meet your eating and food specific recovery and treatment goals in a compassionate and accepting manner.

We work closely with your existing treatment team and help you translate the work in sessions to life outside, putting into motion the important work you’re doing with your treatment providers.

  • What makes us stand out: Our Recovery Skills Meal Coaches receive extensive training and ongoing support so that we can ensure that you’re receiving ethically sound, highly specialized and effective coaching Rooted coaches serve as a supplement to the important treatment you’re receiving from your treatment team, and work closely in coordination with them.

    What you can expect: Recovery Skills Meal Coaching is action-oriented and is designed to help you make progress in the often challenging areas related to food and meal plan goals. Coaches will help you meet your meal plan and therapy goals.
